SCDC and the City of Surrey have big plans for Surrey City Centre, including transforming a key site into a connected, mixed-use entertainment district.
The entertainment district will be centered around a new arena with a fixed seating capacity of approximately 10,000 for sports, concerts, and community events.
The City Centre Arena & Entertainment District is a transformative city-building project that will establish a new entertainment, cultural, and community destination in the heart of Surrey City Centre. The project is anchored by a new 10,000 seat arena designed to host sporting events, concerts, cultural performances, conventions, and community gatherings, alongside a public event plaza and future mixed-use development including hotel, residential, retail, and restaurant uses.
As the City's Development Manager, Surrey City Development Corporation is leading the planning, entitlement, procurement, design coordination, construction and delivery of the project on behalf of the City of Surrey. SCDC works closely with the City, consultants, project partners, and future operators to advance the project from concept through construction while ensuring the project supports Surrey's long-term economic, cultural, and community-building objectives.

2026: Definitive agreements for the arena operator, anchor tenant, design team, and construction partners
2026-2027: Design development and entitlements
2027: Arena construction start
2030: Anticipated arena completion
