For your first Scottish Country Dance class wear soft, flat shoes that are comfortable, do not come off easily, and are easy to move in. Wear comfortable clothes that are not too tight or constricting.
If you decide to join the class on a regular basis you will probably want to buy some ballet slippers or ghillies. Some people prefer to buy jazz dance shoes as they give a little more support than the ballet slippers. Take a look at the following links to see what dance shoes are available.
